GSF's Slide and Tilt system utilises low-weight high-strength plastics to create a robust front bracket to support a pull out and tip down stowage drawer. The front bracket has an integral block wedge and locking socket which hold the drawer firmly in position when closed.
The rear of the tip down drawer is mounted on a slider with an integral pivot plate. This slider and pivot plate is in turn mounted inside an aluminium rail. The rail end stops are robustly designed. The rail can be mounted at varying angles to achieve the vehicle engineer's desired slide and tilt motion.
The system is designed to offer flexibilty and modularity, with the front bracket and supporting pivot plate being standard components. These components are available in different colours. The vehicle engineer is able to specifiy different rail lengths according to compartment depth.
Whilst the system is generally strong enough to handle a 150 KG drawer load, Health and Safety legislataion and safe working practices in relation to lifting loads will generally restrict operating loads to 25 Kgs per person.

Slide and Tilt Also referred to as Tip-Down, GSF's award winning slide and tilt system facilitates safe access to high-bay equipment stowage drawers on fire engines, and indeed other applications such as military vehicles and static storage and racking systems. |
Slide Drawers Solid section steel slides lengths from 300mm to 2,000mm for pull-out equipment drawers. Extensions from 50% to 150% of closed length can be supplied, in addition slide systems that offer sequential dual extension with bi-directional travel allowing the drawer to extened from either side of the vehicle. This enables rescue crews to access vital equipment quickly and safely, regardless of the vehicle's orientation to the emergency scene. |

Commercial Coachbuilding For the adaptation of coaches, trucks and trailers our heavier duty slides are generally required. Load distribution, method of opperation and locking are crucial points for consideration when selecting components and designing such applications. It is recommended that locking systems external to the slides are installed with secure lock-in and lock-out features to eliminate any risk of injury to members of the public using the adapted unit. When selecting a model of slide based on its load capacity allowance should be made for the likelihood that the load may not be evenly distributed and where people are involved the load will be mobile and varying. GSF's product range includes heavy duty partial and full extension slides able to carry loads of 600 KG to 1,250 KG at extensions of 2,000 mm to 800 mm. |
